What is a Safe Pass?
Safe Pass Course is a mandatory health and safety training for people employed in the construction industry. The aim of the Safe Pass Training course is to give you knowledge of health and safety rules in the construction industry. The Safe Pass Training is a legal requirement, you cannot work on a building site without it.
How long is a Safe Pass Course?
Safe Pass is a full day training (8 hours).
The Safe Pass Training Consists of following parts :
1) Introduction to Site Safety,
2) Legislation and Site Safety,
3) Site Accident Reporting,
4) Introduction to Risk Assessment,
5) Risk Assessment for Electricity,
6) Risk Assessment for Excavations,
7) Risk Assessment for Heights,
8) Behaviour-Based Safety,
9) Site Safety and Construction Equipment,
10) Site Safety and Construction Vehicles,
11) Personal Health and Welfare,
12) Noise and Vibration,
13) Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Who is teaching Safe Pass Course?
The Safe Pass Training is taught by SOLAS approved tutor.
What is SOLAS?
SOLAS is a government organisation that oversee the Safe Pass Training programme. Its goal is:
- provide high standard of safety awareness in the construction industry,
- assure that all construction workers have Safe Pass Training completed,
- maintain a register of employees who have completed the Safe Pass Course,
- provide a Safe Pass registration card to those that completed the Safe Pass Course.
What after I complete a Safe Pass Course?
On the successful completion of the Safe Pass Course you will be awarded the SOLAS Safe Pass Registration Card (by post).
